A detailed description is given of the procedure of the indirect hemagglutination test employed in the detection of specific antibodies against pathogenic amoebae of the genera Naegleria and Acanthamoeba. The preservation of all ingredients obtained by lyophilization provide for a standard pattern of the test. Results with experimentally prepared immune rabbit sera demonstrate an antigenic uniformity of the various isolates of N. fowleri, and their marked difference from Acanthamoeba.
