Serum proteins in Giardia lamblia infection

Serum proteins were compared in 10 children infected with Giardia lamblia and in 6 uninfected controls. There were no significant differences between the 2 groups with regard to age and nutritional status. Only the median values of ceruloplasmin, haemopexin, and alpha 2 HS-glycoprotein were significantly lower in the infected children than in controls.
