The synthesis of virus-specific polypeptides in cells infected with a ts-mutant of fowl plague virus with disturbed process of secondary transcription was studied. Synthesis of all virus-specific proteins was shown to occur under conditions providing for synthesis of polyA+ cRNA at the stage of primary transcription but with disturbance of the secondary transcription and blocking of polyA- cRNA and vRNA synthesis. No time regulation of virus-specific polypeptide synthesis was in effect.
