Poisoning by Laburnum was suspected as the cause of two episodes of collapse (with muscle tremors, vomiting and diarrhoea) in one young dog which survived, and of collapse and death of a littermate. Both animals had chewed the Laburnum, many seed pods of which were found PM in the stomach of the animals that died, in which acute, severe gastroenteritis was also seen. After the tree had been felled, there was no recurrence of the symptoms in six months.
