Roundworm infection (Toxocara and Toxascaris) in dogs in the Netherlands

Samples of faeces were obtained from 544 adult dogs in the Netherlands between 1972 and 1977. The incidence of roundworm infections varied from 13 to 34% (average 22.9%) during this period, from 2 to 31% (average 14.5%) for Toxocara canis infections, from 8 to 15% (average 11.2%) for Toxascaris leonina infections and from 0 to 11% (average 2.8%) for combined T. canis and T. leonina infections.
