Gel filtration on Sephadex G-50 was used to separate partially degraded polysaccharides of 6 strains of Pseudomonas. The low-MW fraction contains 2-keto-3-deoxyoctonic acid. The medium-MW fractions contain glucose, rhamnose, alanine, galactosamine and glucosamine. The high-MW fractions consist chiefly of rhamnose, glucose (with the exception of P. maltophilia) and a number of amino compounds and may represent O-specific side chains.
