Rats in a breeding colony were treated with fenbendazole at 100 ppm in the feed for six weeks and thereafter it was reduced to 50 ppm for the rest of the five month trial. During this time and for seven months afterwards no Syphacia eggs were detected in faeces samples. A new infection was detected at the end of this 12 month period and was attributed to infection from outside the colony. [For Part I see VB 46, abst. 6607].
