Immunoglobulin G was detected by immunoelectrophoresis and radial diffusion in the serum of the 11 newborn buffalo calves examined. The values ranged from 0.17 to 1.72 mg/ml. This presence of IgG in precolostral serum samples indicates the immunocompetence of the buffalo fetus.
