White rats were given Piascledine for 1 and 2 wk. The drug was administered in dosages of 1.8 and 20 mg/kg of body wt. When the cells of primary renal tubules were examined histochemically, the hydrolytic enzymatic activity and the PAS [periodic acid-Schiff] reaction were unchanged, whereas some changes were observed in investigations with Brachet's method.
