In 4 out of 43 patients, blood uric acid indices were normal, and in the rest they were markedly elevated. Uric acid levels were increased in 35 patients, and normal in 8. Typical signs of gout developed in 4 cases and signs of nephrolithiasis in 11 cases. The majority of the patients displayed uric acid crystals in the urinary sediment. Uric acid content was independent of clinical, morphological and histological data.
