Double diffusion tests using a polysaccharide cell-membrane antigen and a protein-rich antigen from the cell contents were performed on 172 sera from patients with skin or pulmonary diseases and clinically suspected C. infection.Tests were positive with both antigens in 102, negative with both in 62, positive with the polysaccharide antigen only in 3 and with the protein antigen only in 5.
