Carcasses were of the pigs described in the preceding abstract. Carcass length was not affected by feeding plan. Restriction throughout (A, B, C) gave thinner back fat, less fat cuts and more lean cuts. There was no clear effect of ration on proportions of lean, fat and bone in the shoulder. Because of wide variation, significant effect on area and colour of eye muscle could not be shown. In muscle there were differences in moisture, ash and fat, but little in protein content.
