Culture filtrates of B. subtilis completely arrested the growth of A. daturae, pathogen of a serious leaf spot of Datura fastuosa. The bacterial metabolite was thermostable and fungistatic and it caused abnormally abundant septations and formation of chlamydospore-like swollen bodies in the hyphae.
