Histo-pathologic studies of 3 cases of Brunner's gland tumors, considered up to now as adenomata or duodenal polyps, show features of hamartomata, comparable with lesions of the same order in other org ans. These lesions were found in the 1st portion of duodenum: two were diagnosed radiologically and resected surgically, the 3rd case was an incidental finding at autopsy. The radiological and macroscopic appearance of most of these lesions is that of duodenal polyps. Hence their classification as "Hamartomatous polyps of Brunner glands" as already suggested recently in the literature is appropriate. The literature is reviewed.
