123 strains from 13 pig farms were divisible into haemolytic strains belonging to O-groups 149, 138, 141, 147, 8 and 45 and non-haemolytic strains of groups 8, 54, 78 and 101. Most strains of O-groups 141 and 149, and some haemolytic strains of groups 8, 138 and 147, proved to be enteropathogenic in the litigated gut test. Thirteen antibiotics were tested against cultures and the most active was spectinomycin (Spectam).
