In the 2 cases reported previous treatment with antibiotics is presumed to be the decisive pathogenic factor. Other possible causes are discussed. Endophthalmitis candidosa appeared as a special complication in 1 case. Treatment with amphotericin soon improved the clinical picture. Relapse was not observed over a long period, although the total dose was lower than that generally prescribed.
