Spironolactone and propranolol in combination therapy of arterial hypertension

The above study was carried out in 22 subjects with essential arterial hypertension. They were treated first with spironolactone, then with propranolol and finally with a combination of both drugs at half the dosage employed when they were given separately. The results obtained appear to indicate that the combination of both drugs is more active than the two substances given separately at twice the dosage level.
