A case is described of a 57-yr-old man who suffered 3rd degree burns over 70% of his body surface. A white fungal growth developed over both hands and underarms from which Aspergillus ustus, Penicillium janthinellum, Cephalosporium sp. and Trichosporon cutaneum were cultured. The development of fungi may have been encouraged by local application of oxytetracycline and prednisolone. Amphotericin B treatment was started but the patient died 15 days later of pneumonia.
