Tolciclate versus miconazole, a double-blind trial in patients with dermatomycosis

Tolciclate 1% cream was given to 42 patients with dermatomycosis (3 Trichophyton mentagrophytes, 16 T. rubrum, 2 T. tonsurans, 3 Epidermophyton floccosum, 1 Microsporum canis, and 11 Malassezia furfur infections) and miconazole 2% cream was given to 39 such patients (4 T. mentagrophytes, 17 T. rubrum, 4 E. floccosum, 1 each of T. tonsurans and Microsporum gypseum and 10 Malassezia furfur infections). Cure was obtained in 100% receiving tolciclate and in 97.4% of those receiving miconazole.
