Effect of the surface charge on deformation dynamics in lipid membranes

A theoretical analysis of equations of motion describing the dynamics of a charged spherical membrane in a viscous liquid medium was performed. It was shown that the curvature of the membrane substantially depends on the static surface charge. In addition, it was found that a local variation in surface charge density induces a deformation of the membrane and conversely.
