10 cases of double pylorus, 5 of them not published previously, and another case with a presumed inborn malformation (pyloric band) have been presented. Patients are mainly elderly males with a long history of peptic ulcer, where duodenal and prepyloric ulcers occur at a similar rate. A florid peptic ulcer is frequently seen at the time of diagnosis; however, actual endoscopic controls of an antroduodenal fistula developing from an ulcer are rare. In radiological series a pyloric ulcer may be misdiagnosed as double pylorus, and cancer of the gastric antrum may be supposed erroneously, too. Endoscopic proof of the diagnosis double pylorus should be achieved in every case.
