The distribution of tetranucleotide repeats in the sequence family of DNA strongly associated with golden hamster synaptonemic complex (DNA SC) was analyzed. It was found that this complex was enriched with tetranucleotide repeats with the periods of two, four, and nine base pairs. Participation of repeating tetranucleotides in interaction with synaptonemic complex proteins was suggested.
