All the hamsters which were being used in a tumour-inhibition experiment were found to be suffering from cholangiofibrosis which must have been present before they were taken into the experiment at 3- to 6-months-old. Lesions are described and the authors believe that the animals' food must have been contaminated with aflatoxin or similar toxic substance.
