The occurrence of the repetitions of trinucleotides with the period of 2,3, .., 11 base pairs in the family of the sequences of DNAs from the synaptonemal complex (SC) of the golden hamster was analyzed in comparison with some families of genome DNAs similar to SC DNAs with respect to their structural and functional characteristics. The highest frequency of occurrence of triplets TGT-ACA and GTG/CAC with the periodicity of 2 nucleotides was observed in rat and hamster SC DNA sequences as well as in microsatellite loci from human 13th chromosome (DNA D 13). Differing pattern of trinucleotide distribution was found in cloned sequences of chicken DNA alpha-globin domain strongly associated with nuclear matrix and in a sample of regenerated random sequences.
