The action of six anthelmintics against Trichostrongylus axei in lambs

Efficacy was determined against 2, 7, 14 and 28-day-old worms. The percentage efficiencies recorded against these stages were respectively: phenothiazine at 600 mg per kg, 72, 29, 41, 57%; haloxon at 50 mg per kg, 20, 56, 87, 97%; methyridine at 200 mg per kg, 37, 90, 77, 100%; pyrantel tartrate at 25 mg per kg, 80, 99.9, 100, 100%; parbendazole at 15 mg per kg 100, 100, 100, 99.9%; and tetramisole at 15 mg per kg, 13, 95, 99.9, 100%. The results are compared with the findings of other workers.
