Four methods of collecting semen from the dog are reported. The use of a conical rubber sheath (standard artificial collection funnel) was the method chosen. The criteria used for evaluating 460 ejaculates are described. Of 80 bitches inseminated with fresh semen, 77% conceived; 53% of 15 bitches conceived when semen stored for 1-4 days was used.
