In Brazil, serum antibody and eosinophil changes were studied, before and after treatment with niridazole or hycanthone, in 23 patients infected with Schistosoma mansoni. An increase in precipitin lines was detected by double immunodiffusion at the end of administration of niridazole (25 mg. per kg. body-weight for 7 days or 15 mg. per kg. for 15 days) and reached a maximum at the 15th day after treatment.
