Chicks, artificially infected with M. gallisepticum when one day old, were given live B1 ND virus and/or H120 infectious bronchitis vaccine according to a field inoculation schedule. No clinical or pathological changes were found in any of the birds. M. gallisepticum was regularly found in chicks given this organism alone, but was more readily recovered from birds given the vitruses also; in birds given 0.05% tylosin tartrate in their drinking water, the recovery rate was very low, although this beneficial effect was less pronounced when there was concurrent virus infection. Throughout the experiment (180 days) the agglutinin titre against M. gallisepticum was almost parallel to the rate of recovery of the organism.
