A field evaluation report on 'Agriplan' - an in-service training programme in small-scale agricultural project planning for agricultural officers in Zambia

The report begins with a brief statement of Agriplan's overall objectives, an analysis of Zambia's economic situation and development policies, and the difficulties facing agricultural officers and extension workers, which provide the context and rationale for the training programmes. The second section deals with the changing objectives and activities of the programme and the emergence, 2 years into the 3 year Agriplan project, of a more inherent approach and methodology and a Project Planning Handbook for trainees and trainers. The third section reviews the nature and effectiveness of the training. The final section considers possibilities for future use of the method and approach and its limitations.
