The tumouricidal action of evening primrose oil (EPO), a rich source of linoleic acid and gamma -linolenic acid, in vitro and in vivo is reported. This tumouricidal action of EPO was associated with a 3-fold increase in superoxide generation. The cytotoxic action can be impeded by the binding of fatty acids to proteins in the medium.
