Arcobacter butzleri is an underestimated bacterial pathogen cause of human gastroenteritis. This pathogen has been unexplored in terms of occurrence and depiction of plasmid. The sequence analysis reveals that one of the human isolate of A. butzleri contains cryptic plasmid p Dwan circular molecule of 1921 bp and G + C content of 27.5 %. There are two open reading frames present in p Dwan which is similar to Rep B protein. One Orf is 100 % (105/105 aa) and another Orf is 98 % (174/177 aa) identical to Rep B protein. Miscellaneous binding sites and unique restriction enzyme sites were identified within the plasmid. The plasmid p Dwan found that it maintained a stable genetic element. This is the first report showing occurrence of cryptic plasmid p Dwan in A. butzleri.
