Gingival hyperplasia caused by the immunosuppressant cyclosporin A seems to be another variant of pharmacologically induced gingival enlargements. Clinical studies were carried out to sheed light on the differences and common features of cyclosporin-vs. diphenyl hydantoinate-induced gingival hyperplasia. A marked difference was the pronounced vascularization observed both clinically and histologically in cyclosporin A-induced hyperplasia.
