The prevalence of salmonellae in pig tissues was determined by bacteriological examination of 2,774 specimens from pigs where swine fever was suspected. In all 831 salmonella isolates were obtained, which included 42 serotypes. Salmonella choleraesuis var. kunzendorf, the most common serotype, accounted for 62.5% of all isolates.
