The gross chemical composition (glycogen, total lipids, pospholipids, unsaponifiable lipids, protein and nucleic acids) of males, females and mf of S. cervi was worked out on a dry weight basis. Mf were richest in glycogen and total and unsaponifiable lipids, male worms in phospholipids, DNA and RNA, and female worms in protein. Total lipid contents were more than double in mf than in adults. Glycogen and total lipids had the lowest concentrations in males, unsaponifiable lipids and RNA in females, and phospholipids, DNA and protein in mf.
