Erythrocyte membrane lipid composition and survival of cells labelled with51Cr were examined in patients with exogenous (dietary) and endogenous (hepatic) forms of hypertriglyceridaemia. Despite increased concentrations in plasma, erythrocyte cholesterol and phospholipids were decreased in both types of lipoprotein abnormality. Autologous and homologous erythrocyte survival times were normal in both groups.
