Preliminary results on Na+/K+-ATPase specific activity on erythrocytary ghosts from pregnancy-induced hypertensive women and pregnant controls are reported. The activity is reduced in pregnancy-induced hypertension. The origin of this reduction, possibly due to inhibitors or intrinsic factors, needs further investigaton.
