A fall in egg production on a duck farm, associated with adenovirus infection, was described by Bartha in 1984 [VB 54, abst. 2522]. The strain of virus (strain KT/80), when administered by mouth to 40 laying hens, had an effect on egg production similar to that of strain 127 of aviadenovirus from fowls.
