Activity of alkaline phosphatase in serum and liver of rats increased after daily oral administration of testosterone undecanoate (80 mg/kg body weight) or ethinyl oestradiol (250 micro g/kg) for four weeks. It is concluded that the increased AP activity originated in the liver as a result of changes in bile flow.
