The adherences of Moraxella bovis to three kinds of tissue culture cells (bovine kidney cells, equine tracheal cells and bovine corneal cells) were examined in this study, employing 18 strains. Among them 16 strains proved to be adhesive to these cells yielding the higher adherence index values to bovine kidney cells and equine tracheal cells than those to bovine corneal cells. This adhesive activity was inhibited by antiserum against an adhesive strain of Moraxella bovis, but not by antiserum against an nonadhesive strain. And various physical and chemical treatments for Moraxella bovis did not give any recognizable effects on bacterial adhesive activity.
