Granulocytopoiesis of the peripheral blood and bone marrow was investigated in 67 acute leukemia patients. Varying metabolic shifts in the neutrophils which depended on the type of the disease were seen. These shifts, were well correlated with the course of leukemia. Cytochemical investigations of mature neutrophils showed the blastemia level in acute myeloblastic leukemia.
