Twelve Aberdeen-Angus bullocks of average live-weight 250 kg were randomly assigned to a replicated 2 x 2 factorial experiment during 2 periods and were offered daily water either free choice or 60% of free choice and 4 kg of diets to supply 80 or 60 g N per day. When N intake was less average intake of water decreased by 1.5 litre. Moisture of faeces and urine volume were significantly reduced by restricting water intake.
