Rhodotorula spp., though considered a common saprophyte, has recently been reported as a causative agent of opportunistic mycoses. This paper describes a case of meningitis in a 35-year-old immunocompromised human immunodeficiency virus infected patient who was admitted on 15 May 2007 with history of high grade fever associated with chills and rigors since 6 months. He also complained of neck pain, headache and vomiting since 3 days. He was diagnosed as a case of chronic meningitis.
