For 7 days, 4 capsules/day of 1 of 3 types (viz. tetracycline 250 mg; tetracycline 250 mg+amphotericin B 50 mg; and tetracycline 250 mg+broxyquinoline 200 mg+ brobenzoxaldine 40 mg) were given to 99 adult male patients with various infected lesions. Incidence of fresh candidal superinfection was found to be 55%, 32-9% and 5%, respectively, in the 3 groups. Gastrointestinal side-effects were closely related to candidal superinfection.
