The authors report a case of tuberculosis of the oesophagus. Classical in certain respects, it was secondary to a pulmonary localization and invasion adjacent to the trachea. The case was an unusual one due to the low localization, the latency of the oesophageal as well as tracheal lesion and the progress of the disease which was rapidly fatal after clinical onset.
