Isolated tuberculosis of the appendix

A case of isolated tuberculosis of the appendix is described in a 15 year old child. Infection developed with the clinical picture of a chronic appendicitis. The diagnosis was established at the pathoanatomic examination. The starting point was an older tuberculosis of the pulmonary hides. The course of the disease was favourable following appendicectomy and intense tuberculostatic treatment.
