Patients (500) with eczema were tested with a standard set of allergens and 35 volatile oils. Nine of these oils belonged to frequent allergens causing hypersensitivity in over 1% successive patients. Peruvian balsam demonstrated allergy to oils in only 30% of cases. Use of 3 other balsams from the standard set (turpentine, colophony and wood tars) also indicated allergy.

2005: I understood that trans fat should be avoided because it can increase your risk of cardiovascular disease. And I had heard that the main source of trans fat is partially hydrogenated oils.
