A total of 192 children (average age 10.1 yr; 45 under 7 yr of age) with Entamoeba histolytica and/or Giardia lamblia cysts in at least 2 of 3 parasitological stool examinations were treated with tinidazole suppositories. Of these infected children, 77.6% were asymptomatic; the remaining 22.4% had occasional diarrhea. The tinidazole suppositories were administered randomly according to the indicated body weight-dosage.
