In institutions in USSR, children infected with Enterobius suffer twice as frequently from acute intestinal infections as those free from this infection. The hands of children infected with Enterobius are 3.7 more frequently contaminated by faecal matter than those of uninfected children. The older age groups (those able to attend to their own toilet requirement) were most frequently infected with Enterobius. A changed microflora of the distal part of the intestine was 4 times more frequent in infected than in uninfected children.
