The reactive gliosis in the rat pyramidal tract after motor cortical lesions as well as that accompanying the epileptic foci induced by Co implants was studied by an anti-.alpha.-albumin immunohistochemical method. The similarity of the results with those obtained with Cajal's gold-sublimate technique confirms that what is revealed by immunohistochemistry are, in effect, structural proteins.
