The ability of .alpha.-tocopherol to significantly reduce the frequency of rat bone marrow cells with chromosomal aberrations induced by Cr compounds studied cytogenetically. The mechanism of the .alpha.-tocopherol protective action and possibilities of its application to prevent the effect of environmental mutagens are discussed.
